Athletics will be one of the sports held at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland. As a founding sport, athletics had appeared consistently since its introduction at the 1911 Inter-Empire Games, the recognized prec...
Australia gets to send three athletes per event, but what happens if Ky Robinson wants to run the 5K? Would Cameron Meyers also run the 5K, or would he stick to just the 1500?
I kinda like it being a Mile distance. The mile rarely gets raced at championships nowadays. So it feels good to have it get mixed up. I don’t know if it makes sense for the commonwealth games but I like it

That's why it was adopted for the CWGs. It's just a point of distinction from every other championship. It's interesting if nothing else
While it’s true they can send three per event thats a little misleading. They are limited to the size of the overall team and the athletics team (i think it’s 70). So its not like they can send three in every event.

What were splits of the AUS 5k?
Who knows each lap split as AA is in the stone ages using ROSTER as race result system. No lap splits, no live result lap splits just ridiculous that AA pays for this.
Such an unfortunate schedule. The 1500/5000 is now the natural double.
The mile (???)
Really?
They do realize that only 3 counties in the world still use the mile (US, Liberia and Myanmar). None of them are part of the Commonwealth.
Most countries came off the mile in the 1970s. You would need to be 50 years old or older to even have lived the mile.
I’m sure the young kids will be thrilled at watching a mile (mom? what’s a mile?)
Maybe they should re introduce the furlong race or maybe the stadion.
For most people, it's a cool novelty. At worst it should be a small nuisance
What baffles me, watching something like the Artemis coming into atmosphere and touching down, is all the feet and miles per hour. must make calculations a nightmare. Do they even realise how much easier decimal is? You could literally do those calcs in head. Perhaps that's why they touched down 40sec behind time ;-)

I think its 62
Yeah. Morgan really needed to finish no worse than 2nd to make the team. I believe on a coffee club episode recently, they eluded to Ky definitely operating under the assumption that he'd be picked for this team. So it's either
