The last 200 meters...just WOW. He has an absolutely deadly set of wheels. Extremely impressive race. He looked relaxed and then just completely took off.

His last 200 had to be sub-27. He left Marcelo in the dust with 150 to go.
You really have to see it to believe it. That last lap was unreal. When Mantecon turned on the jets before 200m to go, it looked like he was going to challenge Jackson all the way to the finish, and then Jackson blew the doors off the entire field.
I don’t think any U.S. HSer could finish like that outside of Webb.
I said it last year, JS could break Webb's mile record. Get him in a field with pros.
He's outstanding, but unless I'm mistaken isn't his best 4:02 something? How would he even be in the conversation of running 3:53 in the next few months?
I had the pleaaaure of watching up close. Jackson is a super humble kid with super abilities. Aling with The Bullis School, Union Catholic, Cervite, Jackson’s performance made this another great Arcadia. In my mind, this is the true national championships.

JS has now run 8:31 alongside a 47.8 relay carry. I think he could have a real shot at 3:53 this year.
Yeah Spencer is pretty legit now, I was shocked he made Mantecon’s body lock up like that. Mantecon who closed a 4:00 indoor mile in 56.x. I think that would put him in 3:55-3:56 fitness. I don’t even think a 1:46 guy like Winders could beat Spencer in a mile now. And now Nauman is clearly not in 2025 shape anymore, he should’ve been here.
Hope we see all of these guys lineup for a lineup at Hoka or Brooks. It’s starting to get annoying seeing all the fast guys separate into 2 nationals meets at the end.

Watch the race then consider he’s solo’ed a sub 14 5k indoors and just ran 47.8 in a relay.

Reminded me of Don Sage. Spencer could definitely go under 8:30 with better pacing, and I was really impressed with Mantecon too. 8:35 as a junior is no joke, and a 4:00 indoor mile too.
