I recently read a new book titled "Hagerstown vs. The World: A True Running Story" about a small Maryland town that has either produced or been the adopted home to a surprising number of national-class runners, with a focus on the '80s, when Hagerstown seemed to be an East Coast Boulder or Eugene. It's a super quick read and made me think about some of my favorite running books, including (but certainly not limited to) the following:
- Running with the Buffaloes
- Once a Runner
- Running Free (Seb Coe biography)
- Best Efforts: World Class Runners and Races (Kenny Moore was a great writer)
Would love to hear some other suggestions of good running reads.
