Two new things for me were hearing his dad’s POV and Trevor Painter’s. It seems to me that Cooper being one of the guys is such an undervalued part of this story. His dad stepping away helps that because he’s not the coach’s son for one thing. That’s beyond the benefit of keeping away from the tricky father-coach balance. But how much more fun is the sport when you’re part of something and invested in others’ success and working together especially at a young age. Coopers got this with HS teammates, a coach, and a setup that keeps him in a healthy relationship with the sport as far as I can see.

The press or Seb Coe, who would like to see as the face of the LA Olympics someone who fortunately happens be both an American and a prodigy in the event he himself is most associated with and as a result will likely get mentioned repeatedly in relation to it. Retirement is not for everybody.
Intereating. Couple of slight errors but a decent read. I’m sure Coevett will take issue.
Care to elaborate? I am curious about your perspective of what the article got wrong. Not challenging your claim, just would love to hear more.
I took a quick look after seeing both your posts. There are a few. The most glaring for me is stating Cooper ran 1:48.7 as a 14 year old. He ran 1:53+ at 14. Fast, very fast, but not sub 1:50. Just read the article, you’ll find them.
