I average around 30 miles a week and almost all of it is at 8 minute mile pace except for 5-6 miles which I do on a track or a straight section of road. I've been stuck on low 18s for literally the past 3-4 years. In the past I used to run 45-50 miles a week and again, almost all of it was 8 minute miles. At one point my 5k and 10k pace were almost identical (low 18 5k and mid 36 10k) but I never improved after that.
