2026 Raleigh Relays March 26th-28th Raleigh, N.C. | Paul Derr Track & Field Facility 2026 Meet Documents Meet Information Meet Program Tentative Schedule 202...
That is a good thing; this is a collegiate meet. It's big, but considering everyone in the East Region sees this as the major qualifying opportunity in the distances, it is fairly restrictive (it is better than it use to be with some good meets across the schedule in NC, but those are more team meets with a couple 5k sections, and limited to P4 and a few additional teams).
I've always felt most pros should be opening a good deal later anyway.
they could be pacing or just trying to see where early season fitness is? also great to see that they aren't rushing grace back in too early and giving her time to get back to 100%. I feel like her running worlds was pushing it a bit in terms of her injury and fitness, but that is the kind of racing opportunity that doesn't come very often for collegiate athletes so I'm glad she got to run that (same with gapes who wasn't 100% indoors).
NC State probably will run more at Duke, or WF, or UVA and Penn Relays in April. I am surprised Napoleon and Engelhardt are shown here.
Maybe a workout wkend for Napoleon, pacing a 1500 heat on Fri then an honest 800 Sat (or vice versa)? Glad to see her and Sophie Novak not rushing into the steeple (which AN raced at this meet last year) and working on turnover & top end instead.
Engelhardt striking while the iron is hot and ripping a quick 800 makes sense if she rolled out of Indoor Nats with no niggles.
