No guarantee Pattison (or Cooper) make the final. Sure Pattison looked good but he’s always going to look good in a slow race getting the pole. All season he’s struggled in the pack with positioning. Let’s see how he manages in the Semi. For Cooper it’s a tricky heat with great kickers.

I really want to say how much I enjoy your commentary and knowledge on athletes/races.
Mark English was determined to get the lead, and Pattison reacted pretty poorly. He didn't choose the two options of accepting it or anticipating it and surging on the straights to discourage it and give himself a better chance to keep the lead. Instead he fought English and both of them were dead in the water by the end.

Yep they both ruined each other’s race basically. Silly.
Ben could have let Mark take the lead and sat on his shoulder rather than surge and battle. Wasted energy.
Coetarded accusing Max Burgin of doping when he was 16 for running 1:46, but Cooper is 100% American apple pie legit for running 1:42.2 at the same age.

I never did that Coevett. Burgin is irrelevant.
As always, you have excuses when your runners get destroyed.
Cooper is 17 years old. He is a high school junior. He is the US Champion and is about to run in a world final. If he trips over his own feet and gets dead last he still has a lot to be proud of. As of right now he has made an incredible improvement since his first trip to worlds at 16 just last September.
