Wiley wins comfortably in 2:00.85, pulled away in the home stretch. Kitching in 2nd. Wiley looked strong and in control the whole way. Got a lot more in the tank.

I really like high jumper Olyslager's (Australia) personality and enthusiasm, but once again she had a pretty mediocre meet which was about a third of what her season was like in 2025 when she was named World Athletics Field eventer of the year. It's ridiculous that WA slights athletes like Valarie Allman in the name of regional and political diversity. Val had an undefeated season, set a national and area record, and arguably had the greatest non-steroid era season of any female thrower ever. Not one ounce of mediocrity in an almost perfect, world championship run.
