I am a former 14:15 runner, (2 years ago) and have taken about 12 months off entirely of running. I got no social life and no desire for one, I am wanting to get back into training distances mile-10k mainly to get into shape to be a pacer for some college meets and give back to the sport. I was curious if anyone had any experience with taking basically a year off how hard it would be to get back into shape and what the training timeline should be looking like, I dont expect to be back in top shape anytime soon but as a former low 14s guy id like to image in 6-10 weeks I could pace guys sub 15? or shorter distances equivalent. I took so much time off because my coach kinda burned me out of the sport but now I am interested again. age 25

any advice is helpful
