Becoming a parent definitely softens you up and makes you feel a range of emotions you didn't before, or at least it did for me. We are on round 2 with newborn twins and a 4 year old and having the 4yo want to hold them, hug them, do bedtime stories with them etcetc is all so heart-filling.
Tonight my baby stuck her hand out of the crib as she was falling asleep and we held hands until she was out 🥹
I already feel like these moments are coming and going too fast. I never felt this way about time until I was a parent.
What are your favorite memories?
It gets more and more interesting from here. If it's going by too fast, have more kids and start the experience all over again. Plus the interactions you get to see between multiple tiny human beings are even more interesting than watching just one. The best moments by far are the ones where you show your kids something new that totally blows their minds, whether that's the norther lights or algebra.

One kids gonna fall over at the start line for no reason, some will be crying. Parents will be way too competitive. It's madness turned up to 10 and you have to live it.
Falling asleep together while cuddled on the couch, hearing them sing without needing prior words or music, collecting their funny observations, screams of delight when Daddy finally arrives home from work... stuff like that.
Our 16m old was looking at a duck outside our back door this morn. He knows moo moos, rarrr of various types, baa, baa and quack, quack! The little giggles of pure glee and happiness as he was pointing and making his quack, quack. Magic.
My kids are adults now, but when they were young, I was able to relive my childhood, and re-watch all of my favorite movies and shows from a different perspective. It was like those song reaction videos on YouTube. Observing my kids watching The Wizard of Oz, or an episode of Little House on the Prairie, was fun.
