Why isn't Martin running the 5k? You'd think a 3:48 miler with a weaker kick would be best in a relatively tactical 5k

Hedengren and Chamberlain are doing the exact events that they said they were going to do in an interview a few weeks ago.

I wonder if Chamberlain will also try to do the DMR. If not, then the women's DMR is wide open.

I expected Martin in the mile. 3:48.8 guy last year; will be the favorite, IMO.

If he ran the 5000, he would have his hands full with Samuel...maybe Langon.

Looks like 5 ducks in the men's 3k, and Washington State just missed two in the 5k.

Elbadra of South Carolina scratches mile and is all in on 3000 and likely DMR where she will be fresh. Iowa St will also be largely fresh so they should be among DMR favorites.

OR's 3 W milers comprise 3 of the 6 named for their DMR so it looks like last year some of them will run DMR along with the mile. More rest this year though.

Makes for a minor storyline in the 3: Racing against tired-legged heavy hitters, can relatively fresh Elbadra pull off another--McCabe 2025--tactical stunner?

I like Niko, I think he's gonna be a factor in some domestic 800 races as a pro since he can run for Puerto Rico after he graduates. I don't like that the Utah State guy got one of the most gracious 800m altitude conversions we've ever seen.

Wish guys like Plant and Harrison could make the mile, I think outdoor Plant will score and prove this whole indoor process wrong. Dan Watcke is another one I'm predicting will score outdoors in the 800m.

I have to believe Jane will keep the 3000 pretty fast. And Elbadra will likely have the DMR 1600 leg in her legs.

How does Billah Jepkirui/OK State get the top seeded time of 4:20.34?

That would be the new CR.

Her pr is 4:22.92 from the Husky Classic/oversized track while her short-track pr is 4:23.40 from Big 12's.

One of those times must have been converted down to 4:20.34 -- although Lubbock's 3200' elevation is below the 3281' (1000 meters) mark needed to be considered for an altitude conversion.

In any case, Billah appears to be the co-favorite w/Chamberlain for the mile title.

And really, really looking forward to seeing how well frosh Englehardt & Stegall perform.

Altitude conversion. I think this likely tactical affair might be tough for Stegall and even Engelhardt got herself stuck back at ACC championship but was able to outkick that field.
