Let's Run's favorite NCAA star anchored Villanova to yet another DMR win.
Catch the replay if you can. He absolutely dusts the field from 400 out, and was flying in the last 200m.
I hope someone gets an interview.
I watched it on ESPN+, it was Comber on the anchor leg for Nova.
I think it was a late switch. The timing site had Comber listed before the race, but showed Marco in the results. And there's no mistaking that hair cut.
I'm grateful to be able to stream these races via ESPN+. However, if you are one of the announcers, you have to be able to recognize that a.) lineups get switched up all the time and b.) Marco Langon was the nOVA anchor.
And another beef (this is a problem with all networks broadcasting T&F), how about showing me the finish of the race, not just the winner finishing. Every race I get to see who won and them falling to the track after the finish, walking off the track or smiling for the camera. But I have no idea who got 2nd, 3rd, 4th etc. because they did not show that.

My response as a former announcer and coach.
1) HOw about the coaches helpign the TV guys out. Yes lineups change but if it was the NFL, the coach would be told. We will fine you 100k if you don't get the lineup to the announcers before the race. The lineups should never be wrong. It's not hard to tell someone who is on it and then have it run up to the booth.
2) As for not broadcasting just the finish, I agree. I finally saw flotrack or milesplit do that in some broadcast the others. The majority of the audience is PARENTS. They finally showed went to a split screen shortly after the finish. So they could show the finisher flop down and the rest of the finish in the 2nd screen.

Once again the announcer says Langon new to these fields
I presume he meant first race I meet even after yesterday

Rojo. Good thing you identify as a “former announcer”. God forbid a track announcer would know the athletes running around in circles

Saw Marco's post race interview today, so much better and civil LOL. Last 400 in 53.1 , last 200M in 25.5.
The information was there, just have to click on start list (not entries) and you see the actual lineup. Unfortunately the announcer got it wrong the entire meet, no oversight. Overall a good broadcast mixing in interviews and replays. Always a good meet.
