Given the timing for people running spring marathons I would have expected better fields.
Very curious to see what ostrander does
Surprised to not see people using it as a tuneup for Boston. Are they all running NYC?
Who is Chip Scarinizi and why is he in this race with those times?
Grace Hartman NC State and Annie Rodenfels with the debut

No appearance $$. NYC got the best because of it.

it's time for Letsrun to put some respect on Chip Scarinzi's name. At 45 years young he is the clear DARK HORSE candidate to win!
I will be there but I'm running the Marathon. A half marathon is a nice warmup....
Why is the U.S. half marathon championship in Atlanta two years in a row? The Atlanta Marathon is a very average race on a challenging course. Expo terrible, food after terrible. No split at mile 7-ish, the split doesn't happen until about mile 12.5. Lame. I don't want to run with the half marathoners that long. My favorite Marathon, The Flying Pig Marathon, kicks its butt from expo to finish line.

Then why are you running it if you seem like you don't like anything about it?

This is interesting. I had guessed Hartmann was redshirting indoor, but surprised and happy to see this.
She must be doing some serious strength work that should pay off for her at 10000, where she is already good.
She's a contender here too. Nothing to lose she can just latch on to lead pack.
Gate River 15k is the weekend after US half champs and also tends to draws a pretty good field

Probably because no one else wants to pay the ridiculous fees USATF charges for cities to host these championships. It's becoming harder for them to find hosts every years because of their absurd demands.
Excited to see what Charles Hicks and Cole Sprout can do
Hi, it’s me! While my daughter did recently just suggest that I “do the Olympics” (ha!), I can assure you that I won’t be lining up with the pro field or on any start line in Atlanta this weekend for that matter. Months ago, this race was also meant to host the master’s half national championship and I had filled out a form for more info on that. But it was cancelled, so I moved on. I’m not registered. Excited to watch this one, though!

That is awesome, I was hoping you were indeed in this field and there was some detail I was missing. Very respectable times and keep up the good work on the roads!

That's hilarious. It's cool you still get to see your name in that field regardless

I love to run Marathons/Ultras, love it. Atlanta Marathon is very close; I run it every year. Still an average at best race, never said I didn't like anything about it. Bet the shirt will be green, haven't seen it yet. Almost always seems to be green. Hello, there are other colors. 100+ Marathons/Ultras
Where is the love for my Somali American brother Ahmed Muhumed. Looking forward to his marathon debut and hoping he can get a win here Rodrizguez and Kiptoo are pretty tough now though.
