I thought I'd start a thread to catalog the various doping cases in the NCAA, like someone else did for high-profile Kenyans. I'm including people who were busted while at an NCAA school, or shortly afterwards. I'll try to keep it updated, and let me know if I'm missing people.
Confirmed Dopers
- Parvej Khan (Florida, 2x SEC champ in mile, 1500, All-American in mile)
- Whereabouts failures with last missed test on 12/12/2023. Competed for the entire 2024 track season anyway.
- Busted for EPO at the Indian National Championships
- Peter Maru (Arkansas, 2x SEC champ in 3k, 5k)
- Busted for trimetazidine in March 2023 in Lille, France. Competed for Arkansas until ban announced in March 2024.
- Divine Oduduro (Texas Tech, 4xNCAA champ in 100, 200)
- Busted for HGH and EPO in 2023, results wiped back to 2021. Last competed for Texas Tech in 2019
- Goodness Iredia (South Florida, NAIA champ for Cumberland in LJ, NCAA All-American)
- Busted for metenolone at a meet in Louisville in January 2025. Admitted the violation and banned for three years from February 2025
Likely Dopers
- Caroline Jeptanui (Tulane, All-American in cross country)
- Evaded a drug test and provisionally suspended September 2024. Ran the entire XC season and part of '25 indoors anyways.
- Tabitha Ngao (TCU, Big 12 Champ in 1000m)
- Provisionally suspended for whereabouts failures in September 2024. Nearly identical timeframe to Jeptanui.
Possible Dopers
- Everlyn Kemboi (Utah Valley, '23 NCAA 10k champ, 3x All-American)
- Stripped of 10k title in December 2025. Runner-up Emily Ventners claims Kemboi tested positive for an illegal drug. Kemboi denies it. No independent statement from the NCAA.
- Seth Clevenger et al. (Iowa State)
- Several athletes suspended in October 2025 for breaking a "team rule." Various rumors allege doping, and a video purporting to show Clevenger's email receipts for EPO surfaced in February 2026. Clevenger currently competes for D3 Rowan University. No athletes have been officially named by Iowa State.
