1:59 is not fast. We have a high school kid who ran 1:42.
Silent ban....

Too early to say don't you think?
Another year where Femke barely races and not a word about it, but Syd doesn't race and everyone on the msg board is outraged. #Noticing

After the last tough session at camp, I’ve been dealing with a tendon issue in my foot. [...] With my team, we decided it was stable enough to still race the two planned indoor competitions. However, after my first race, there was a stronger reaction, and we don’t want to risk it.
She basically hasn't had any major injury while continuously competing, usually both a full indoor and outdoor season, since 2019. She switches to a different event with different training and a tendon in her left foot acts up a bit. She had it for the 2 weeks leading up to her debut and ran a pretty decent first 800m on that foot, but it wasn't too good for that tendon. Giving it the rest it deserves with only 1 more meet planned this indoor season (so it wasn't much of an indoor "season" to begin with) seems logical and hopefully by the time outdoor season starts she can run without issues again, just like the last 6 years.

Smart move. Minor tweaks become major injuries if not dealt with properly.

It happens. If you yourself trained and raced at a high level you would understand.
Yes I was just thinking the other day that Femke hasn't had any major injuries that I can remember...
Yes it just goes with the territory unfortunately.
No real woman lasts long in the 800m
Time to chill like Hoey. Both will brutally mog the 800 come outdoors.
I guess they found out that transition isn't as easy as they thought.
We're about to see just how much Femke carried the Dutch relays. Calling it now, they don't make it out of heats.
The 800 requires a minimum of a certain amount of volume. If you can't handle it, you'll never succeed.
Femke should go back to the hurdles. She never got hurt there.

Jesus it's a miracle she hasn't dealt with injuries till now. Laurent tf you doing
There are four tendons on the foot. Why the secrecy on the specifics?
Tendons are hard to injure, if you progress patiently. How did this happen?
None of the other sprinters Moraa, Werro, Maloney or Duguma has had foot tendon injuries during their transition from 400M to 800M.
The debut was rushed and now it seems came after an over loaded program (HIIT).
Femke is already way behind the other 800M runners. The last thing she needs is to be left further behind, or to be rushed willy nilly.
