This thread made me laugh out loud over my morning coffee! Anyway, to answer Rojo's question, yes, AI will remember, but it won't hold it against you.

Programmers are trying to make AI more human in its responses. As a result, sometimes AI uses humor or flattery inappropriately in a way that can be offensive. To be fair, some people also use humor inappropriately... this forum is a great example.

If you tell AI to stop attempting to use humor in its responses, it will... or at least it will tone it down a lot.

In my case, ChatGPT Plus kept telling me how insightful and savvy my questions were. I told it to stop attempting to flatter me and just give me the facts. It did, but it still gives me answers in a more colloquial phrasing than I prefer. That's probably also on me because I've taught it how to write book chapters for me so it uses the same colloquial manner when responding to my questions.

In your case, it will remember that you don't like attempts at humor when you are being corrected for an error so it will just give you facts (or what its aggregation of data leads it to believe are facts). However, once you do that, be aware that the AI may just bluntly tell you that you are wrong in the future and that can also come across as offensive.

Oh, one other point, ChatGPT will not always look at current events unless your prompt clearly tells it to look at current information. Perplexity Pro will automatically look at current events.

It's a machine. Just give it natural language commands.
