I don’t think so. I think the shoes are worth 4-5 sec per mile at every distance, depending on how efficient the runner already is. So 2:00 +/-.
Too narrowly simplistic, training in supershoes gives far greater benefit.
the shoe benefits might be 5 to 10 minutes or even more at the lower ends of runners. Assumptions of 4-5 sec per mile works better for runners who are naturally more efficient.
In a distance like the mile, 4-5 seconds total might be realistic for the inefficient, but at the very top, I don't know if they're gaining a full second for the race.
There have been guys running 3:26.xx for almost 30 years now. And the truth of that being the best achievable level still remains. if you're already a supremely efficient runner, giving those shoes to others is only making your life harder.
