Yes, the sport is silly. Most women that participate in the annual ritual only do so for the ads and the halftime. They can see the game itself is silly.
American football is boring AF. There’s like 12 minutes of actual gameplay padded with obnoxious ads catering to a lowest common denominator IQ and performative patriotism. Really questioning the integrity of the sport with the surge in popularity of online sports betting, too.
I enjoy the actual game. I don't want to watch it with non fans who don't understand the game. I don't care about commercials or the half time show. I wish half time wasn't longer for this game. I don't want to stuff my face or get wasted.
pro tip for those who don't have any particular attachment to American football: go for a hike if you live out west or go to the movies if you're on the dark east coast when the game is on

now you can talk about the game at work for a few minutes if need be and you've saved yourself 3+ hours and done something you actually care a little bit about
people get so attached to this game with teams they didn't care about until maybe days ago because they have nothing going on in their lives
I usually tape the game and start watching an hour or so after kickoff. I can fast forward through the commercials and halftime and still watch most of the 4th quarter in live action. This is the way I watch most football games and movies on TV.
I'll watch the "best" commercials the next day on YouTube.

What does Football offer that these “real sports” don’t? The tightest pants. When you understand that football is an outlet the homoerotic desires of repressed American males, it makes a lot more sense. Most of the sport is watching men in tights stick their butts in the air and then dogpile each other. Very unChristian. Rugby is the straight version of football, which is why it is not popular in American (a country whose leader is a Broadway show loving, make-up adorned, reality tv show star).

It's the most watched event in the United States but not worldwide. I've found you only have to watch the last 10 minutes of most sporting events, that's all you need to see. I won't be watching the halftime show as usual but I'm looking forward to hearing about the virtue signaling by Butthurt bunny.

Have you been to a game? The tickets cost a fortune, most of the attendees are successful people and I don’t remember having seen obese fans.
