As a fellow Canadian, we've had Penny Oleksiak (swim) and now Alysha Newman (athletics) go down for whereaboots failures in a short amount of time, and my opinion is.....
GOOD
I don't care how big a national hero they were (Oleksiak) or how big an upcoming star they purport to be. Relentlessly pursue transparency and catch all cheaters big and small.
I'd like to see a pro athlete comment on this topic. I know it can be a pain letting them know where you are, basically at all times. I guess they give you a window of time.
It seems to me that if I wasn't using peds I'd be very careful when they were in my area testing.
I remember Molly Huddle posting on facebook once how she walked out of the bathroom, the doorbell rang, it was the random testers. She had 90 minutes or something like that to urinate again.
But, not letting them know where you are is very suspect.

This has been discussed to death. Every time a prominent athlete has a whereabouts failure, the media runs comments from elite athletes about the issue.
The consistent take is that it's a mild pain and quite easy to keep the app update if you put any attention to it at all.
Not something that should be hard for a person who's been managing their diet, international travel, other logistics etc etc for years.
Since she seemed to put so much of her focus onto OnlyFans and all that, I'm not surprised she'd lose track of the things an elite world-class athlete is supposed to be doing, like updating on whereabouts. (Assuming she wasn't actually doping and hiding.)
I'm Canadian and I've been quite embarrassed by her representing my country, so honestly, good riddance.
She posted a video on Instagram denying a drug use and stating it was because of 3 missed tests. Did not provide an explanation and claimed she cannot tell the whole story now, but is appealing and will tell the story when she can. So ultimately, it doesn't tell us anything.

I don't think it's fair to judge her for wanting another form of income. Many athletes have a part time or full time job. She was also one of the more successful canadian track athletes at the last Olympics.
