Disclaimer that I am new to following track and field. I have some idea of what careers retired athletes from other sports do pivot into, and some of course make enough money that they can do whatever they like or nothing at all.
But what options are pro runners pursuing? I don't think some mid level distance guy who is pro but not podium at big meets is pulling enough cash to just not work after age 30-something. Do a lot go into coaching? Or just leave and go back to whatever they maybe studied in college? Genuinely curious what the options are after seeing the threads about who is cooked for 2026, Athing Mu, etc etc
