Does anyone know if there is a formula for converting the effort of a 3 x mile workout to an equivalent 5 x mile? For example, if I'm trying to hit a 3 x mile workout in 4:48 with 2:30 recovery, what would be the equivalent workout for a 5 x mile? I was thinking somewhere around 5:00 with 2:30 recovery... Obviously, the paces of the actual intervals will differ, but I'm looking for the recovery time and the total effort of the workout to be equal. Just wondering if anyone has done both types of workout and what the approximate translation would be. thanks
