I'm guessing he pretends to forget because it wasn't a high number (Greg Lemond called it "mediocre")

Why would a 54 year old remember an arbitrary number a doctor told him when he was 13

I still remember my blood pressure from when I was 13… 127/78… how odd that someone would pretend not to remember such a pivotal point in their lives.
Thank you Jamin for bringing this to our attention! Had you not been scouring YouTube this entire weekend discovering this content the story may never have gotten out. Thank you for your invaluable contributions.
Jamin, you mentioned you haven’t had a date since 2018?
Greg Lemond always had a chip on his shoulder.
Lance did have a high VO2max. Actually one of the regular posters here worked in the lab where Lance was tested.

Lance's highest recorded Vo2 was a doped 81.
Undoped, likely mid to high 70s. So - great, but nothing special in terms of world class athletes.
If you follow pro cycling, his 5.7 w/kg @ threshold, whilst excellent compared with the general population, is way off the best grand tour contenders' outputs. His cocktail got him up to approaching 7w/kg. Makes you wonder what methods the guys today are using.

Well I have raced against and trained with professional cyclists, what about you?
It's a safe bet that whatever he says is not 100% truthful.
Why would have anybody tested Lance for this Vo2 Max when he was 13?
And even if he was tested, why would he remember that unless he kept records, which is very unlikely for any 13 year old.
Because people remember these things. I remember what I ran for the 800m in PE class in 4th grade.
I ran all the way through college, power 5. I never recorded anything. I don’t remember my race results. I don’t remember my PRs. I know once I got to college I was mediocre, that’s about it.
I enjoyed it while I did it, but moved on. I’ve created new memories since the running ended.

So you haven't been listening to his podcasts over the last few years? They're very good.

WTF?
I've been tested and I dont have a clue what it was. It didn't seem to be very relevant except as a curio.
I was tested in University and I don’t remember my result.
At the time, we were being told that it’s irrelevant to performance. Simply that it’s individual to people. Since there was no way to get retested to see improvement (or not)., the whole thing was a trivial thing at best. Quickly forgot about the result.
What's wrong with you?

Im sure it was higher than 99.999% of us. But Lemond is higher than that. So i guess everyone is medicore. Lance was a competitive against pro triathletes with little training as a young teen. I suspect he has decent physiology.
