Donavan Brazier, Bryce Hoppel, Cian McPhillips, and Mohamed Attaoui are running the 600. Probably because they don't want to finish 2+ second behind Hoey in the 800.
They won't get close to Hoey's 600 record; Hoey will run 1:42.5 or lower in the 800.

In the good old days of indoor track on 12-16 laps to the mile banked boards many meets were middle distance love fests: 500, 600, 800, 1000, mile with top runners in each.
I think he was referencing the meet hoey ran the 600 not Milrose or whatever the meet they r running
So you're accusing Hoey of ducking Millrose because he happened to run a race three months earlier? If someone runs Bryan Clay in April but doesn't do Monaco in July, are they also ducking?
Seems like Joey is ducking the rest of them and not running the 600?
Is that a joke?
He's already run the indoor WR and was about a foot away from going under the all-time mark run outdoors - what does he have to prove over 600m again?
We really getting into a 600m v 800m debate? Hoey will absolutely be trying to run under 1.43.0 here. Whether he does or not is another thing but I guarantee he's going to try it. Plus this is his only 800m of the indoor season because he's running the mile at Millrose.
I actually understand why he wants to run the 800m and the other guys the 600m. It would have been nice if one of them had joined him in the 8 just for balance and to add some interest but in the event Hoey wants to try and chase that 1.42.67 mark of the great Kipketer, it actually might be best if he does it as a total solo effort vs having to worry about winning a race/getting position on the track etc (the problem the pursuit of the outdoor record has right now).
But ducking? I don't think anyone is but if they are, it's certainly not Josh Hoey.

Nobody is dodging anyone when it comes to indoors because it doesn’t matter. Unless Hoey runs faster than 1:40.91 it’s not a world record either.
