The AIU said Korir tested positive for CERA (continuous erythropoietin receptor activator), a long-acting form of EPO that stimulates red blood cell production for two to four weeks. CERA has been classified as a prohibited substance by the World Anti-Doping Agency since 2004.

Should be noted that Korir pulled out of Boston because of an "injury", then won Ottawa a month later.

He once told on Instagram Volare was manager. I don't know if they still are. People who remember the winner of London marathon who got banned , Daniel Wanjiru , had same manager.

I don't think banning Kenya as a country is the right solution, especially considering that many of the coaches, advisors, doctors, and athlete reps come from outside of the country.

The only real way to dissuade some of the cheaters is through financial means. How is that done? I'm not sure, but withholding prize money, fining athletes, coaches, agents, and sponsors might be considered. There will be no perfect way, and all of the above have pros and cons, but it's pretty easy to recognize that cheating becomes less valuable if it doesn't lead to a financial reward.

I will once “everyone else” starts having lines of WR holders and gold medalists getting popped.
