After using poison oak to aid in cleaning up from a nature stop I got a bad case of the umentionable scratchies. Okay, so it's mostly gone but small patches keep coming back.
I think it's on my shoes from that run. What do I need to do to wash them to get it out? I read that cold wash is better than hot but was wondering if others have had this problem before.
Tecnu soap, buy some for you and your clothes.
You probably transmitted some of the oil to the laces when you untied them. Or, did you wash your hands with hot soapy water before taking them off? You might replace the laces.... If you were standing or stepping in the p oak it may be all over the shoes. If so, throw them away. It is almost impossible to get it out of shoes/clothes. It can be "caught" by touching something that has the oil on it.
Sadly I didn't know what oak looked like (ivy was my previous enemy). I guess I might have to look into some new shoes.
