BMC 800 Watford

Perhaps the officals made the mistake of starting the races from the 400m start???... That would explain the number of pr's in the race.

Seriously the race was incredible. You could not have asked for better conditions.

The pacemakers were right on pace and all of the athletes were up for it. As usual Rich Hill took the pace on from 600m and if you have seen this guy running this season, he puts his balls on the line every time he runs on the track.

British Athletics has been waiting a long time for a meet like last night. It was disgustingly good.

If those times are correct then that is a fantastic boost for British middle distance running. Well done to all.

Give me a break this wasn't a school meet. Do you really think the BMC officials don't know where the start line of the 800m is? That's just too stupid a suggestion to even raise. At least accuse them all of being on drugs or something slightly less ridiculous. Nothing wrong with anything at the meet. Just look at the awful quality of the AAA 10k if you need to be brought back down to earth.

Rimmer is only 20 years old.......and Lancashire is 21...both 1.45!

How do you feel if you're Michael Coltherd?!? You run the best race of your life. Smash your PB. Run what must be the Euro Qualifying time and you end up 5th. That must be one of the best 800m British races for many years.

And to have so many PB's at the same time!

So now we have 4 brits under 1.46, and Ricky Soo's, Neil Speight nor James Mcllroy have really started their seasons!

The 1500m wasn't exactly shabby either. Add McCormick, East, Badderley, Lancashire and Farah (and Jackson, Thompson) to that mix and you have a pretty healthy helping of middle distance potential.

Forget the 10km, you cannot have everything.

hopefully now UKA will stop bigging up Mcillroy all the time - he's had enough chances. It's time for a new generation.

Rich Hill is the man and is also 20 aswell, James Brewer a junior who has another year as a junior after this one also ran 1.48.2 which is a pretty good time. We just got to play the numbers game now and say at least one of these will make it big time and bring back popularity into british athletics.

The officials were time served men who had presided over hundreds of meets. The weather was sublime as the wind in the early evening eased away when the big races were run. The pace making was as near perfection as possible but the key was that just about every race saw the "dogs" tailing the "hare(s)". They did not allow them to get away hence PB's came in almost every one of the many 800/1500 races.An evening to savour.The BMC is to be congratulated.

Given the number of times that McIlroy has not been selected, I wonder how you think UKA have 'bigged him up' ?
