I think it's kind of unreal that Wisconsin used to be a powerhouse in XC. Not one of the many high altitude Western State schools that train and recruit at high altitude.

Any Updates on Chris Solinsky?
Thought this was a load of crap 3 weeks ago but he does seem to be off the Oregon roster
They are still good. Nothing special about the school to draw the best runners.
Academically, the UW has more to offer than Oklahoma State, Iowa State, Oregon and some of the other recent XC successes. Further, Madison is a very good college town. And, as you wrote, they are still good.
Oregon's men are on the rise, finally, so this would seem to be a move to go home and get in position to take over the Wisconsin program eventually. Mick must be around 70 now.
