"after altitude conversion", and also run on an illegal 323 meter track, LOL.
And did they remember to ADD time to the 400m split?

I don't want to hear a word about illegal tracks when BU exists
Either way, very impressive. Altitude conversions have been shown to be fairly accurate over the past few years but I want to see them actually run 10:33.
Could Jane and Riley go sub 4:20 this year? Does anyone know why they ran it on a random Wednesday?

New Balance women hold the DMR record at 10:33.85 back in 2022, here are their splits for comparison:
Heather MacLean: ~3:14.92 (1200m)
Kendall Ellis: ~52.05 (400m)
Roisin Willis: ~2:03.30 (800m)
Elle Purrier St. Pierre: ~4:23.55 (1600m)

I don't know why you're weirdly obsessing over this so much. Seems personal.
Incidentally, it's a crappy, beat up, flat track with uneven turns.
Let's see them replicate that in a real meet.
I don't really want to question the best team in the country but does it seem like they are racing a lot for a top college team? Straight from XC to indoor.
How cool would it be post race if the Michigan coach handed them a certificate & proclamation. (In a Santa hat with Jordan logo)
I love sport right now.
What is the fastest 1200m ever in College DMR?

BYU split 3:21 when they broke the NCAA meet record last year (10:45)
Not bad for a dinky home meet on a Wednesday. The BYU women ran 10:41.85 in the DMR yesterday — which converts to a 10:33.10 according to the NCAA. 10:33.10 is faster rhan the 10:33.85 world record set by a New Balnce team anchored by Elle St. Pierre in 2022.
Splits:
Riley Chamberlain, 3:15
Sami Oblad, 52
Tessa Buswell, 2:07
Jane Hedengren, 4:27 (apparently Hedengren's dad said she ran 4:29 so we've changed it)
What is bad is the BYU press release on the meet. This is an embarrassment for a Sports Information Department. It focuses on a pentathlete scoring 4,105 points.
I said this a couple of weeks ago: Jane can go sub 4 in the 1500 outdoors. I wouldn't be surprised by a 3:58 or 57 in a fast pro race. She's clearly way more than a 5000 specialist.

Riley ran 3:13 & Jane 4:29 according to her dad
The discus throw is not part of the DMR. I think you mean "discuss."
I fulfilled my grammar police quota. I certainly feel better now.

I understand the concern but I think a couple weekends of racing post XC is fine. They are getting the last out of their massive summer training blocks and will probably take a relaxed month and enjoy the holidays before getting back into it in mid late January.
Why on earth does the title say that BYU ran "10:47," when they ran 10:41.85?
For anyone who hasn't had to endure the BYU indoor track - it is truly terrible. Weird and tight turn on the "enclosed" end, the other end is wider and the enclosed end is a little banked but not if you stay in lane one and run the "short" version of the track (which they did) , it's a weird size so you have no idea where you are in the race, just a complete train wreck. I'm impressed when anyone runs a passable time there.
Time to take a week or 2 off
Rojo, can you please read your own forum before posting? We have several threads on this already (as one would expect), with more accurate titles.
