His range is ridiculous. He nearly beats Nuguse at the 5th Avenue Mile while recovering from a foot injury and now he dominates US XC even though he is not known for his XC or 10k prowess.
When Parker Wolfe kicks, he is like "UP, UP, DOWN, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT, RIGHT, B, A, START!"
As long as he stays healthy he is right up with the big 3 we have right now or ahead of them - US distance running is getting deeper and deeper and it's great

I think a bigger talent than Blanks. Nico not as sure, Parker’s been gunning for this title since he came back in July. Imagining Nico took a good break after Tokyo and isnt at 100% yet. Probably not a shock, but the top 4 of the 10K race was dominated by guys who had a nice runway to this one with the exception of Wesley Kiptoo (props to him) over two of the bigger names in Young/Blanks.

Bad Idea for Nico to train in a Nike focused group

This is correct. Timing of training cycles and racing calendars. All things being equal, their paths will merge at peak/near peak in the next 18 months or less. I think Blanks could hold sway in XC but at 5k, a healthy Parker is going to be pretty tough to beat over the next few years. Hocker, Young, Fisher, Wolfe, etc good grief. Still, the rest of the world will get better too. 3:48 guys not good enough to pull off a 5k win?
Great to see Parker win the is one. But it is true that Nico and Graham are probably just getting back to stacking miles. Graham went to Japan twice since Parker ran his last race. Nico also hasn’t had time to catch up either. But, honestly these guys are all pretty close and by January everyone will be able to get some good training in. This is a really great and young team for the USA.

Yep, they are both great. Nice problem for team USA to have.
Nico made the team, excellent.
Parker won a USATF xc title, nice too. (and these are hard to get with all talent in one race).
Really the top 10 for US now at 5000 is quite ridiculous. Basically, all at 13:00.
3rd at the Trials in the 5000 while in college. Better than Nico did at Trials in my book as the US is better at 5,000 than 10,000m.
Didn't get to go to Olympics because of technicality.
Gets hurt for track season so we didn't see his greatness.
Now training with Nico, smokes him in the longer event, where he is not the specialist. Nico should crush Parker in XC based on past form.
This guy is special. Are we barking up the wrong tree with Grant and Nico getting all the attention?
What race has Wolfe run that makes you think he’s capable of 12:45? He’s only one year younger than Young yet you’re comparing a guy that hasn’t broken 13:10 to the AR holder?

7:30 closing in 54
He has never run a time trial 5000 in top form. His 13:10 was a semi-tactical US championships.
Personally I think he’s good for about 12:50-12:52 at the moment. 12:45 is probably a next year or 2027 thing.

Both great runners, but I'd not draw any conclusions from this particular race. I think that course was better suited for a guy like Parker with a a more compact, faster cadence and lower center of gravity.
