Why don't you just get the md's or ld's?
No.
They would be a terrible choice for running a 5k, even with rubber spikes you've still got a plastic spike plate and an extreamly flexable shoe with no structure or cushioning for your foot.
Stay away from the sprint spikes and get a pair of cross country specific shoes.

I take back my recent post.
After looking at nikeid, if you select the spikeless version, they put the rival xc spikeless bottom on it. Looks like it would work just fine.
