I noticed after 3 of the 4 Brooks regionals that a lot of no-names seemed to win the races and upset some better-known runners. Evan Spreitzer upset Kavi Gibson after it seemed he would avenge a mediocre NXR regional. Nathan Lee was also upset by a random called Sam Laverdiere. Where are these guys coming from or does anybody know anything about them or is it just me?

That is strange. I thought you were posting BS but then I looked him up. TFRRS has him listed as a junior in a January 2024 race and as a senior in a January 2025 race. This checks out with him graduating last year. The below article also mentions that he was a senior last year. I am not sure what the regulations are for the Brooks meets but I see his age is 18. Maybe they are letting him run because of his age?

He is home schooled. He is normal senior age but starting competing early in HS events and the state didn't want him to get a 5th year.

Or more likely he didn't disclose to meet organizers that he had already graduated from high school. Because who follows rules anymore?

If possible, try replicating the issue on a clean install or different environment (user account, OS, etc.) — that can help isolate whether it’s your setup or a bug.

Sam runs with Valor track club out of portland maine. He was 5th at USATF new england xc this year. 2429 8k.
No idea about his hs eligibility status or why he's not running for a college team. Surely he is fast enough to run for Southern Maine or even Maine or New Hampshire at this point, but maybe it has something to do with him being home schooled.
