Yes, I thought Mechura had a decent shot with good weather, but then he got injured and wasn't 100% during track. Haven't seen him race this fall for North Carolina either

I think North Carolina is a curse for Minnesota runners. Both Brecker and Mechura went there and have not been running. I don't know if they're hurt or what, but it's disappointing for sure

Yes it is, Breker has barely worn the UNC jersey. Qualified for U20 xc a few years back with Aidan Jones (during his redshirt year I believe), then ran 4 races last outdoor season. Might have gotten injured again before conference 10k though?
Also Mechura was listed on the regions and nationals lists, but didn't run anything this fall. Wondering if he was close to being ready, but not quite there? Hoping someone can provide some insight on these two. Hope we see them soon in indoor and/or outdoor
Starting this so it is separate from the 2026 track one.I see a few head coach openings already for the 2026 XC season:Minnetonka girlsWBL boysSt. Paul Central boysAlbert Lea boysMahtomediSpectrum
I attended this track meet yesterday and took photos - thought I'd post here as a way to share with parents/athlete. https://photos.app.goo.gl/WMX1YQ5NpjwjCxrB6
Carley LaMotte is on fire right now. A 4:49 indoor mile puts her at #3 in the nation and #1 in the nation for flat track. That kind of time in January is very rare. If she continues this streak she will for sure break Yetzer's state record of 4:41. I believe she trains with Momentum Performance, the same group as Risser. The training there needs to be studied

Is Yetzer's state record a 1600? Looks like LaMotte ran full mile. Will be exciting to follow this spring
