Will Camille try and get this one disqualified too? She has a habit of doing that to people who break her records.
With all the negative press she received after doctoring the wiki entries I don't think Camille is keen to start races any time soon in the future.
Not sure if it's the end of her career or not and only time will tell and it's a pity because in the grand scheme of things she's still a talented runner. The main issue is her psychological status and her decision to play the autistic card, to the detriment of others. That was unnecessary and over the top. Trying to get an advantage in races.

The fact that Camille's records have fallen fairly quickly is an indication that they were soft. Catriona Jennings is an Irish Olympian with half and marathon PRs slightly faster than Camille so she has legitimate credentials.
I won't be surprised to see some of the road ultra times come down significantly in the next 5 years

Absolutely - when Japanese women, or others, in the 2:22:00-2:30:00 range start running 100km, they'll potentially run 6:45:00 or faster. Jennings and Herron are both around 7:07:00 for 100km. Jennings and Herron are 2:36:00-2:37:00 types, 6 minute miles for marathon. We're waiting for women who can run around 5:30 pace for marathons....2:24:00 types. That will be a game changer.

Gerda Steyn, who holds the course records at Comrades in both directions has a 2:24.03 PR from Valencia in 2023.

Steyn is 35, so hopefully she'll move to the 100km soon. She's based in Dubai many months per year. Dubai is fine from November to end February. Temps mostly in low 20's. Watching her on Instagram, she has a nice easy style of running. Doesn't hurt that she's pleasant to the eye. I'm confident she could run around 6:50:00, or better, for 100km, if she put her mind to it. Comrades, with all the hills, even if shorter, is harder ! World 100km are always flat courses. She has potential to obliterate Herron's and Jennings' times, 7:07+ She's a monster woman, although you'd never guess that if you met her in a social setting. Kudos to Bester, fellow S.A., for originally coaching her.
Gerda said in a recent interview that she wants to run a 100km next year and break the WR. Not sure where that would be but I know adidas are wanting to put on an official 100k record attempt.

By the way, Steyn has no problems financially as she's a qualified quantity surveyor by training and qualification, University of the Free State, Bloemfontein, S.A., so she absolutely doesn't need the money from running.
She has worked in Dubai, since 2014, in a number of roles, no doubt using her academic qualifications. Kudos. She is definitely not one of these "one trick ponies."
She doesn't refuse the money though for prizes, for example, her 2024 Comrades Marathon win included prize money of R2,075,000, $120,000 U.S., plus additional incentives and sponsorship (Adidas) money. Needless to say, this monster woman, with the delicate, ladylike looks, is doing fine financially.
FWIW, she was quick enough to post congratulations on Catriona's IG - she also did same for the new 24hr WR at the World Champs recently.
It seems she has belatedly realized how bad her sniping has made her look. However she's still peddling the autism victim hood and "I'm only making sure the rules are applied" nonsense.

FYI Courtney Olson ran 6:59 for 100km yesterday at Tunnel Hill to take down an Anne Trason record...she split 5:34 through 50-miles en route and kept on going.
