Running a marathon isn’t impressive at all

Running a marathon is extremely challenging for 99% of the population.

If you break your expectations based on other times you have run than it's hard. Like if the charts say you are going to run 3 hours based on your 5k time and you end up running 2:50 then that wasn't easy.

It really shouldn’t be. People are just tremendously fat and pathetic.

If a not morbidly obese person trained for a few weeks they could run the entire distance no problemo

This is incorrect. Maybe people who are not overweight and are under 40 generally could.

And some people are both incredibly foolish and unjustifiably supercilious.

I find guys who can lift a women over their head, like in figure skating or gymnastics, to be very impressive.

Running a marathon is nothing to be ashamed of.

But to stand there with a woman in your hands, sprawled out over your head - that just has to be admired.

Maybe thirty years ago the perception of it was a big deal. The mystique of it has washed off. People figured out it's not that hard. Even at elite level so much has changed. I remember the experts saying running more than one marathon per year will lead to burn out. I know hobby joggers running one every month for last 3 months. All under 3 hours. I just don't think running longer means much anymore. People either don't care or they think it's stupid. Everyone do their own thing. Hyrox is the new thing now. BTW, people 'running' 6 hours isn't running. But too each their own.

Yeah well nowadays, it's almost like the hardest part for people nowadays is doing the whole thing without pulling out selfie sticks and talking to the camera.

Fully agree, anyone can run sub 2:30 man or women. What gets me are those that can’t break 13 mins (man) or 14 mins (women) in 5000m wearing spike, especially if between the ages of 18-24 they really are a special case

Hell yeah, these modern tracks made it so easy for the average man to break 13.

So tells us, what distance would someone have to complete running all the way to impress you? Also please define "somewhat fit" and the number of weeks you have in mind. And what speed would count as running in your fit folks fantasy? If able, please do mention all the scientific studies done on average Joes and Jills that support your claims. What time did you record on that regimen and what were you on? Last but not least, if you are going to troll, try running you mouth a little more to reach a reasonable level of nonsense so that in a few weeks of more trolling and too can do it, even though it still won't be impressive. Take comfort in the fact that anyone, including you, should be able to do so. And don't get me started on talking a trollathon, which even some people who are passive and out of data could do.
