Kara Goucher @karagoucher I agree. I don’t understand the leniency for cooperation but I don’t make the rules.
She is responding to the fact that they take a year off of your suspension for admitting you drugged. This is precious coming from someone who was highly suspect herself throughout her career.

She's actually wrong anyway. The ban is 2 years for the diuretic hydrochlorothiazide because it's just a diuretic and not performance enhancing in any way. They gave her 4 years because she was being shady about it and lying. They backed it down to 3 years when she admitted it, which means she still ended up getting 1 extra year above the actual ban that she would not have gotten if she cooperated immediately. She didn't get leniency for cooperation, she got less of a penalty for not immediately cooperating. That's a huge difference.

"Highly suspect herself"
I don't think she was suspect. I genuinely do not understand why she seems to be one of the most hated people on letsrun. I'm grateful that she helped expose Salazar and has fought for years for clean sport. She's on the side of the good guys in the fight for clean sport.

Regarding why she is hated…. It’s because she symbolizes the fast hot girl on the xc team that all of the letsrun incels got rejected by over and over.
Follow the true history. Kara and Adam were very successful collegiate runners. Both were in a huge slump and struggling and looking for a change. They chose Alberto. EVERYONE including Coach Wetmore warned them about Alberto’s past and that drug rumors followed his entire career. They both turned their careers around and both praised Alberto for their turn around at the time. As Alberto began to bring in other athletes (and do the same thing he did for Kara and Adam) Kara was no longer the queen and she became bitter. She left and went to Jerry (now a known as another Coach that defends drug use).

The year off is so resources don't have to be spent on court and so hopefully the athlete will rat out other dopers. But it should be a longer than 4 year ban for those who lie or are uncooperative. Maybe 8 years.

Highly suspect by the loser trolls on lets run who hate someone else's success especially if it's a woman who wouldn't date the.

Because she is one of the good guys, people like the OP hate her for exposing bad guys aka Salazar.
She's one of the good guys thanks to USADA leaving her reputation intact. But bottom line is that she made tremendous progress with Salazar as her coach and Brown as her doctor. And she was never at same level after leaving Salazar.
Most of the athletes coached by Salazar should have gotten suspended, even if short suspensions for collaborating with USADA. If that had happened, would Kara still be one of the good guys? Doubt it.

Kara knows this, her and Des went over this in detail. Her point is that taking a year off for “cooperation” after already being found guilty of tampering/lying is not really cooperation.

It is definitely weird. There are some posters here that automatically hate any woman coming forward with sexual assault charges. Then there are some posters here that are ride or die Salazar fans. Finally some posters just hate women that open their mouths in general. They totally lose it if that woman is an announcer.
Maybe just the old boys club, but it is weird and very obvious on every Kara thread.

HCTZ is a diuretic. It does help shed weight. ...But moreso diuretics and HCTZ in particular are used by doper as a masking agent so other PEDs won't show up on drug tests. Caffeine and other diuretics aren't as effective as masking agents as HCTZ.

I don't fit any of your strawmen, want to give it another shot?
I despise Salazar and 100% support his lifetime ban.
But bottom line is that if you have a coach-led doping scheme that leads to the coach getting a lifetime ban, then there's going to be doped athletes.

These are facts.
Your handle being "Rewriting History" is perfect. That was a poor attempt at fiction.

Were you around during her peak years? She wasn’t highly suspect. She had a normal, steady, consistent number of years. Nothing crazy, no outlandish times.
