Right now I've got eight. And the scary thing is that seven of them are the exact same make and model.

Man, I'm too scared to count. I have 4 in my regular running rotation.
I just counted and here is the results:
Spikes: 4
Racing flat: 5
Trainer:
New: 9
In service: 6
Worn: 4
So a total of 24 usable and 28 overall.
Spikes: 2
Trainers: 3
"Trail" shoes: 1
Racing flats: 2
Retired: 4
That makes 12.
52
two pairs of precisions, one pair of idatens
Eight pairs of trainers, five pairs of spikes, and one pair of flats. Not that much, but I'm the only runner and old trainers tend to strangely disappear over time.
3 pairs wornout and still in active use
1 pair of waffles, 1 pair of sprint spikes, 2 pairs of kennedys, 1 pair of active wave riders, probably 5 pairs of dead riders, and 1 pair of trail shoes
too many.
If i had to guess I'd say spikes, flats, and trainers together: over 30. Some of em have over a thousand miles and will never be worn again though.
Trainers: 2
Trail shoes:1
Spikes: 2
Flats: 1
Total:6
I spray paint mine gold, then mount them on a block of wood by using wood paste or superglue, then make homemade plaques to glue on to the side of the wood, making trophies I call (of course) the Golden Shoe award which I present to the gutsiest performance at each high school cc meet or road race I take the kids to in the summer.
I ususally present it to them at the post-race breakfast after the meet.
I keep mine in the car. 17 pair of trainers right now, but most of them are kinna old. In my house I only have 9 pair counting the new ones I just got at Niketown. Oh yea, I have 3 pair in my locker at Univ of Hawaii too. I guess that makes 25 pair altogether, yes?
