I don’t see an AR for Kiptoo but top American if Mantz has an off day. But Mantz doesn’t have many of those.

Kiptoo has ZERO chance of getting the US record in the marathon. Mantz also has ZERO chance. These guys are not good enough. Not sure why this isn’t obvious to everyone.

So Kiptoo became a citizen on Sept. 2. I assume he filed with USATF shortly after. So they announce he’s the US late Sat night before the marathon. Clown show stuff.

The current official AR isn’t out of reach for Mantz if he has the ideal day. Kiptoo seems to be less unknown but he says he’s aiming for 2:06.

Yep. I think he went out in 4:10 the first mile of NCAAs back when he and the NAU dudes and Mantz were battling it out for XC titles... wild stuff. Haven't heard his name in a while.
