Huge jump from nobody to 4th in the world? Then all of a sudden nobody again? Extremely suspicious. How has this never been discussed? Is everyone really dumb enough to buy his anti doping crap? If he ever comes back and starts running world class performances without world class times, I will just give up on this sport - it is already so dirty. I think he’s a great champ racer who’s had awful luck with injuries/timing of injuries. His path to world/Olympic selection also gave him much more experience internationally than his NCAA peers

If you watch that NAU Flotrack series it is clear that he is a very hard worker. Sometimes, hard workers have a breakthrough. I think he is clean. I think he always has been clean. I think the guy broke through and took his shot. Will we see him again? Maybe... Maybe not.

I’ve been thinking about this, and I think Luis is the only one, at least in the last 15 years or so.
Fisher was 0.29 seconds away from fitting the criteria. Nick Symmonds is an interesting one as while he won NCAA titles, they were all in division 3. However, he only has one top 4 finish (two fifths and a sixth, though)

Yeah, here in CA we knew had great potential simply because he had come from a school with a lackadisical approach to most sports.

going into Eugene, his pr was 13:10 from a fast diamond league (and his only at the time if I remember correctly). In Eugene, he ran only 4 seconds slower but closed in 2:24/55. Are we seriously expected to believe he was able to jump from a mediocre college time to 4th in the world (beating barega, cheptegei, kejalcha and Fischer and only a second off of Jakob) naturally. Get your facts right and pay attention to the sport you claim to love. We should all want it clean...
