Piss poor traffic management plan for road closures annoyed residents and negatively impacted local businesses. Not enough water on the course for the conditions. Piles of trash left behind on the course. Staged the race courses and starts so that people had to slow down mid-way. Ran the course across RR tracks that see long freight trains regularly.
The Brooksee leadership seems woefully naive and overmatched in every attempt at this race.
Holy Cow. I just clicked on the reddit and the amount of negative comments about this race is absurd. Even the race directors is chiming in and trying to defend the mess. Folks in Boulder are squeeky wheels. It's the capital of NIMBY. There is no way this race takes place next year under it's current format.
Well they had Alexi and Molly in attendance so all is forgiven.
The Reddit thread had lots of comments, including folks saying this is a "once a year" event and it's fine to throw trash on the roads like the big NY/Chicago/etc. marathons.
The biggest event, Bolder Boulder is only a 10K and; therefore, the road impact is less than a road marathon or triathlon.

It wouldn't surprise me if the people of Boulder did complain to the city in hopes of canceling this event's permit.
