Only 4 wins in 11 tries. He's lost almost twice as much as he's won.
So much glazing for a guy with a 64% losing percentage in global outdoor championships.

Since you're counting his losses as a teenager: you forgot to include the 2017 WC Steeplechase, when he was 16...

It’s still damn good, and this year’s WC shouldn’t count,
In all seriousness 4 golds is rare air for any event especially the range of 1500 and 5000
So, you mean he's won 4 global titles and on other ocasions narrowly lost to the best athletes in the world?
You say 4-7 like some of his losses were UGA losing to appalachian state

Isn’t that better than 1 in 4?
Track is a weird spot in that almost all runners “lose”
Jakob had four outdoor golds and two silvers. That’s better than 99% of pro distance runners.
Also two 4ths, a 5th, and 10th which while terrible by his standards is still pretty great for the average runner.
There is no one in this era who comes close to him on track medal count

Joshua Cheptegei has a better track medal count. 5 golds and 2 silvers.

He got eliminated in a preliminary heat. Romain Mornet beat him.

5+10 is much more easy than 15+5.

Yeah this is silly, Hocker and Kerr aren’t penalized for not making it to worlds at 18, why should Jakob be penalized for getting 4th and 5th at 18

Teenagers have won gold medals. Stop making excuses for him.

He has four more wins than you.
He is competing in an era that is increasingly more even-handed when it comes to testing. The African men are feeling a bit of heat after decades of literally unrestricted doping, with the best of the high responders winning all the time and flashing huge big-cheat smiles. The women will soon start to see the circle beginning to close as well.

Who has done better of the current runners? What about Nuguse and Fisher? And Kerr? And Kiplimo?

Is it better to not be good enough to qualify for global championships at a young age, like Kerr and Hocker, than it is to qualify and not win?

When Kerr gets silver, he medaled and should be celebrated. When Jakob gets silver, he lost and should be criticized. Some would never admit it, but the reason why they hold Jakob to an impossibly high standard is because they know deep down that he is better than their favorite, and if they held their favorite to that standard as well, they would look horrid.

Jakob hasn't done better lately. 1 win in his last 4. That's a 75% losing percentage.
not bad. can you imagine an american distance runner with 4 global wins?
