2) Europeans were doing way too much V02 max and way too little threshold. Kenyans run at their threshold much more naturally and much more frequently. Lactate testing and Marius Bakken's system show that westerners don't feel threshold naturally like Kenyan's do. We need scientific measurements to dial it in. We're doing that now.
3) Probably most importantly... the shoes. Kenyans are incredibly efficient runners. Westerners less so. The shoes even the playing field. Its why when people argue that super shoes don't work because "what would El G run in super shoes? 3:24" they don't realize a perfectly efficient human being who gets a ton of energy return naturally (El G) won't benefit the same as an otherwise equal athlete who is slowed down by being a plodder.

For some reason they've really never been much of a factor in the men's 10,000, or, certainly not to the extent you'd expect given how well they do at every other distance 800 and beyond. They've had some successes here and there, but I believe just one Olympic champion (way back in '68!) and not much in Worlds either, nowhere near their rate of success in other distance events. Paul Tergat won five Oly/WC medals in it but never gold. Even Eliud Kipchoge went from a 5000 superstar to a marathon superstar without spending any time at 10,000. Ethiopia has always had their number when it comes to the 10k.
Honestly, the Kenyan men seem to be in a down era generally right now, but they've always been weaker than you'd expect at 10k given that they are otherwise the nation you think of first when you think running.
They have such a drough compared to their former standards.
They dominate the marathon and are still good for 800/1500 and their women excell everywhere.
That's strange that they became a non factor in track distance.
Increased scrutiny. It will happen to their women eventually, and then to the EPOpians. They’ll be reduced to one or maybe two top tier athletes in most events like many other nations. The inflated numbers we’ve seen since ‘87 are due mainly to drug use.

It's funny how Americans always see the fault in others but in themselves. The reason why you boys are soft and remain that way.
FIFY. Got rid of all the comtrived BS used to cover the artificially (via PEDs) numbers of top 20 Kenyan/Ethiopian runners in so many events. The only reason for what we saw in Tokyo was increased drug testing. It now needs to be applied to the women in equal fashion.
It"s a matter of finding the talent. Sawe was an 800 guy but ran the 5000m after he missed his primary evenr. Ran a 13:56 and rest is history after agents got their grubby marathon hands on him.
As testing becomes more stringent and crooked officials are (hopefully) weeded out, that will gradually change as more and more clean runners get back into it.

Yeah right. All westerners had to do was lactate check and have to submit to better testing to suddenly be able to run 12:45 and 3:27. I hope the Africans don't figure out our secret.
They become too soft and whites have caught up to them quite a bit. Now only chance they have winning is to make the race very fast from the start but they don't want to do the work. And that is maybe because Nico,Grant and other guys can probably run with them. I can understand their predicament because there are many of them and they don't want to become a sacrificial lamb of fast pacing. But if they didn't drop the rest of the field with 2 laps to go, they're gonna get out kicked.
It's the repeat of Mo Farah taking all of their lunch money but there are so many others who can do the same.

So the theory is they don’t test the woman or the marathoners? Seems odd to me.
My money is on running a 2:05 pays better than running 12:45 these days…. Westerners are the reverse as they are getting paid to make national teams…

Joshua Cheptegei counts as a Kenyan. Kalenjin name.
Other than that, any top Kenyan good at 10,000 can and does make boocoo $$$ running half marathons. They could drop back down and win these meaningless track 10,000s if they wanted, and Cheptegei weren't in their way. If not for him, they certainly would.
track is dead, no money in it, entertainment for a niche and stingy audience

Yeah right. All westerners had to was start honestly testing some of the African men. I hope the Africans don't have any backup officials who are even more woke or easy to bribe.
Part of your post was muddled, but it was easily repaired.
