I wouldn’t call it a “show” as it’s our lives and the world we live in

we aren't going through a lot violence, the news just constantly shows you the little that happens.

The political factions exploiting that hype make sure of it too. 300 million people, there will always be a bit of violence here and there, the most newsworthy makes the news and you go "EEEEEEEE"

if you are stupid that is. Most people unfortunately are. And you always think the violence is increasing, because you forgot about all the news from last year, or even a month ago.

We do live in a society where relative safety has been so profoundly normalized that a political incident involving a couple people anywhere in the country can become national news. This is not to say it should be tolerated to any extent, but there is far far far far worse historical precedent.
