But in all seriousness, let's stop the political talk and get back to running. Plus, 74% of Americans are too fat to wipe their own butt. I don't take stock in any polls. Everyone is on SSRIs, high on some substance, or too fat to function.
he is not going to get a nobel because he's generally seen in the world as a mean-spirited person whose foreign policy efforts are often (a) wrongminded (supporting russia over ukraine) or (b) symbolic and ineffective.
when he does achieve a lasting resolution of something like afghanistan, he disavows it.
related point on that and russia, but you're also probably not getting a nobel if you tend to pursue deals with negative powers (russia, taliban) in the absence of the locals (afghans, ukraine). that reads as power politics and not as helping the people stuck in the middle.
that and trump's unnuanced support for likud war politics are at odds with how the israeli left sees it as well as most of the world. what is enforced as permitted thinking here against a background of claimed "antisemitism" is not populat outside of likud or the american right.
others want him to get a nobel for funding work on the covid vaccine. if you want that, you need to be an uncomplicated advocate. you're not getting the nobel when you try to discredit your own accomplishment, eg, appoint RFK, allow anti-vax policies, push covid conspiracies.
i personally think the man (a) straddles issues as opposed to is consistent and authentic and (b) is an old man who changes his mind every minute.
i am a lefty and will openly say obama's nobel was premature. it sounded to me like it was given more to encourage him to do things as opposed to in reward for having actually done them. it may have been in part a response to him saying he wanted to leave afghanistan and quit using gitmo as a black site. he did neither. so he lost my vote for his second term.
the difference between left and right is i can do that -- have principles and implement them even against my own side. the right just backs their man and bends their principles to his actions, even when they contradict themselves.
