As stated before on LRC, Battocletti should give hope to all other non-African-born/non-altitude-born women distance runners that medaling at the Olympics and World Championships is possible.

I remember Aouita saying in a interview some years ago that all what he has achieved was du to his Italian Manager (Dionisi of Firenze). Before that he took a train for three days through Spain to reach a town of France where "Le Maire" gave him a job.
