No update from him or George Mills. I kind think you can’t have it both ways - all this confident chat, constantly updating your social media.. then when it goes wrong - silence.
Nobody expected them to give an interview straight away for sure. But I think it would be good to get more information. Or if you don’t want to share - then change your public persona.

Agreed. I have less (but still no 0) issue with runners like kenneth rooks leaving us on radio silence. He's always had minimal media engagement. Kerr (and I think this is a good thing) has been pretty prevalent in media, and I'd love to see an announcement.
Realistically it'll be something like "unfortunately I injured my calf in my fall in prelims. I'm taking some time off to heal. thanks to all my supporters."
Agree with the two posts. Grant Fisher and Jacob Ingerbrigtsen had bad races and were really disappointed but took the time and talk to their fans through the media after the race.

That is just professional.
Yep. I have to say Jacob went up in my estimations by doing so. And appearing quite humble.

I don't think Jakob had a bad race. It was only his third race of the year. 13:02 is not a bad race. Especially considering he was coming back from injury.

think you're jumping the gun massively here. There will without a doubt be an extensive overly dramatic youtube vlog from Josh Kerr about the World Champs, and cynically I'm 99% sure that's why he kept going when he was seriously limping, to make more dramatic the 'but Josh never gave up' narrative for his social media and youtube channel

You're talking about a sport where athletes routinely dodge the media after a bad race, much less getting injured.

Given his injury problems this year, and his 1500m heat, Ingebrigtsen ran a fantastic race. Were you expecting him to medal?
my grandpa spent 3 years in france fighting nazis so we can type on our keyboard about the "Severity of the sprain of a rich white mans lower leg muscle from a game"

Whether he decided to drop out or limp to the finish was irrelevant. He had wanted to win the race and not to impress people with a gutsy finish. What was Abbey D'Agostino‘s motivation to finish her race after completely tearing her ACL in a fall?

Though I would NEVER EVER wish injury on anyone, the bright side is that he didn’t win. There wouldn’t be a large enough pair of wrap around sunglasses made to fit his head.

if you haven't noticed, Josh doesn't do normal social media updates. He (and Brooks) only do produced content; they have been leveraging a video series for this entire season. The details about his injury will be in the next video and we'll ALL watch as we're dying for an update. It's pretty smart, really.

No, it's not smart. A five-minute video clip of Kerr in Toyko giving his fans an injury update would satisfy a great deal of curiosity. If the guy is too cratered to think about his fans and how they must be feeling, that's selfish and weak, man. Thinking about the sport only from a corporate sponsor's perspective and what Kerr can do to please his daddy is easy for someone like me to reject.

Don’t forget obligatory throwing stuff at Ingebrigtsen because reasons.
