That was a fun race. 4 guys battling it out for the win. Only 0.13 between 1st and 4th (Tebogo).

Makes me wonder if Lyles went a little too hard in the semi. Could he have dropped a low 19.4x or high 19.3x in the final if he'd coasted a bit more in the previous race?
Noah Lyles is the face of sport. SML has the wins but races sparingly and has no charisma.
It’s a shame that such an unlikable athlete is champion. It really is.
Lyles delivers again. He needs that LA 200 title to complete the set,
Never in doubt. He's so much better than everyone else over 200. Tebogo hasn't looked right this season but 19:65 for 4th is crazy. Hell, Zharnel's 19:78 for 5th is crazy
Gotta give Lyles credit. He repeatedly comes up big in the clutch.
Could Lyles end up being better at 400 than 100? Or am I nuts because so far any 400 attempt he has done has been sub-par?
I see Bednarek overtaking him. He also has the advantage of being 2 years younger.

You mean she doesn't act life a buffoon out there?
Lyles has now ran a sub 19.60 10 times that is the most by any sprinter in history.
I do wish we could have seen him n the NCAA running all those relays the 100/200 on the same day,
What an amazing sprinter this guy is.

2 years younger Noah was out there winning. Tough break for Bednarek who’s been steadily progressing and has some 100m upside. Let’s see Bednarek run 19.3 on pure hate over the next year

As Dizzy Dean famously said, "It ain't braggin' if you can do it."
As a Bednarek fan...
Lyles (and all others) need to worry about Levell. Like Lyles, he's got that 'something' that hints of Carl Lewis / Usain Bolt. Call it burst, pop, spring or whatever.. they have the capacity to forward extend in a way that would be overstriding for nearly all others. Especially Lyles....When he closes races, its hard to see anyone else driving their hands that high as not being too much.
Bednarek, Tebogo and Seville are really 200/400 guys. Their running form is more Michael Johnson / Jesse Owens. They have an efficient running form that clearly lends itself to the deceleration that is the 400m.
Attention/ Scheduling favors 100/200, obviously. It's also a simpler training program than the 200/400. We are still in the shadow of Bolt --- clearly not MJ - after this year ;/) ---The 400 field will remain thin with 'specialists" And Botswana is taking advantage of that.
3years from now in La2028. Who knows? Guessing and waiting will be ours to enjoy.

It's crazy to think about his dominance at world champs over this distance, and yet you can't put him ahead of either Bolt or (gulp) MJ on the all-time list because he is 0 - 2 in the big race.
I think with the AR, 4 world titles and dominance on the circuit for the last half decade+ he is absolutely on the Mt Rushmore, but yeah, hard to put him higher than 3rd. As for LA? Guys, that is 3 years from now and he will be 31 years old. I just don't see it.

I noticed your username. Are you honestly saying that Noah Lyles, given the sample size of the rest of his championship efforts, could barely manage sub 20 in the Paris 200m semis and then a 19.70 completely all out whilst 100% completely healthy?
I actually LOVE Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone. Someone who suffered from performance anxiety and have worked and transformed herself into mental Juggernaut. Sydney purposely underperformed at her first Olympics because she said, "she at 16 yrs old was scared didn't want to be there".
Many elite athletes suffer from this debilitating performance mental issue and they do so without fans being aware. I should know, I on all accounts should have been a known world class athlete but never totally got over limiting my performances with my thoughts in competitions. HOPEFULLY this brings light to the subject and help a young or even established athletes get help 🙏.

Definitely. He knew he had messed up too. He was fortunate 2024 Tebogo wasn’t in the race or that over performance in the semis would have cost him the gold.
