Update: 11:12 Am eastern: At 10:58 & 10:57 am eastern The jury of Appeals has rejected 2 appeals by Abderrahman Samba of Qatar and Alison Dos Santos of Brazil. (Appeals are assigned to the athlete they would effect).
So that means Rai Benjamin is your gold medalist. Only in our sport does it take 1hr and 45 minutes to determine the winner.!

I saw that and commented in the thread that if it had affected the neighboring runner, would he be in trouble. I didn't see that it did affect the neighboring runner, though the hurdle was moved quite a bit, so he probably had to alter his stride.

the rule itself is simple, but the interpretation of "impact" here is not. if the athlete went over the shifted hurdle with no issue, was he impacted? If on video the other athlete had difficulty navigating the hurdle due to its new position, it should be a DQ, but if it doesnt appear to have any impact, you can definitely argue there should be no DQ. Its not really simple at all in this instance.
I'm told Nigeria is appealing. Nathaniel would stand to get bronze with a Benjamin DQ. And he was the athlete whose hurdle was hit by Benjamin's crash. So we may not be done here.
