I will agree that maybe I had too much faith in him after what I’d seen all year (like lots of us did).
I think it’s a combination of factors. I do think too much racing as he did look tired and had less of a kick. I also think nerves got to him. And I think some athletes who do the Diamond League with all the r the lights and pacers, don’t appreciate how different Championship racing is..
Some athletes (see Jake Wightman ) are very good at racing. They may not be the fastest on paper but they get through the rounds unscathed. They put themselves in a good position always, they respond to what is going around them.
Laros didn't do that. So on that point I’d agree he wasn’t as good as we thought. And others surprised us.
