There's a major global track championship going on right now. How about we talk about the people participating in that?

Obviously both Michael Johnson and Tommie Smith are on those relay teams, who else?

Johnson ran that third leg on Baylors 4x1.

Smith was a monster on anchor, once split a 19.5 on a 4x2 (I was there) and once ran dow Jim Hines on a 4x1 and histories first sub 44.00 4x4 split.

Can the US get the stick around the track in the 4X100 without getting DQ'd? You know, dropped baton, lane infraction, passing the baton outside of the exchange zone, etc?

Back in 1932 at those Olympics we brought in a 4x1 team that did nothing else, none of our 100m guys were on that team, yep.......won the gold.

In 1960 at those Olympics we ran the Tennssee State girls team the Tigerbelles, yep won the gold.

We do need to try something like that, I wouldn't use alternates that's for sure.

One of the real shockers in relay running was what hurdler Renaldo Nehemiah pulled off one year at the Penn Relays. He came from way back in a 4x2 to run down fellow hurdler Orlando McDaneil LSU, what was that split, damn~~

Then in the 4x4 he came from way back to run down Villanova's Tim Dale a 45.5ish cat, thinking he split 44,3ish. Nobody saw that coming.,
