His season has been pretty shocking to watch. Of course, I think that speaks more about the level he attained and held so dominantly for so long.
I don’t think he’s done. Even in his earlier races this year, he’d have the lead at hurdle 7. If he was going slow over the first 7 hurdles, I’d be worried for him. But I think he’s still got it.

Good dude and still interviewed with Lewis Johnson afterward. Seems a little unsure what went wrong.
Looks like he throws his trail arm back really far the last 3 hurdles, when he starts to lose ground from his lead.

He is unsure what went wrong. You kidding me right? So after all these years, he has not realized what is wrong with his 110H races? Parchment winning gold in Tokyo should have been the wake up call for him. I cannot believe he has been/is still that oblivious all these years later.
Would be really interesting for someone who is really well versed in the hurdles to explain why Grant has such a bad last 50 in his races. It’s obviously not a stamina issue. What is he consistently doing wrong over the last 50 that his very experienced coach can’t figure out or correct?
I never thought he would win Olympic gold, due to that near-automatic tendency to fall apart late. Seemingly there would always be someone on the upswing in an Olympic final.
Somehow he held on last year and it wasn't particularly close. That would have been the devastating year, not this one. He's banked a legacy.
And he was hardly the overwhelming favorite. I saw 11/2 odds on Holloway prior to the meet and it probably went higher than that after the opening round.
